Finished!
SailMaine's quiver of 420 sails is finished, and coach Steve Williams isn't wasting any time getting out on the water. The first practice is tentatively scheduled for mid-March. The National Ocean Service station in Portland currently has the water temperature at 35.4-degrees Fahrenheit. I don't expect it to be much warmer in March.
Our next fleet order is 14 suits of Cape Cod Mercury sails for Maine Maritime Academy.

Handwork
The final stages of the 420 project. Patience installs cunningham grommets.
As you can see, these sails have oversize numbers and colored stripes, so different teams can be identified easily by spectators. The orange and blue diamond 'S' is the distinctive Sail Maine logo.
